WHEN THE MIND STRETCHES
There is a rule in physics that also applies to real life.
When a spring reaches its elastic limit, it can no longer stretch unless another spring is added to it.
Our minds work the same way. Sometimes we feel stuck. We get tired of thinking, and we begin to believe that our creativity has reached its limit. We rely too heavily on other people’s experiences, and slowly we stop creating—because experience has convinced us that “this is as far as it goes.”
But that mindset only extends the same patterns and produces the same results. Creation has no fixed limit. When we reach a mental threshold, the answer is not to stop, but to add something new: new thinking, new wisdom, new perspective.
Let us use wisdom to go beyond the thresholds others have accepted. Growth begins where comfort ends.
